Barely two weeks after a leading member of a party in Germany’s governing coalition compared supporters of the opposition Alternative for Germany (AfD) party to “flies on a pile of shit“, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier has now compared them to “rats”.
For the details, see my new report at the Daily Sceptic here.
I am German by birth and lived the first half of my life (30 years) in Germany. I have a good understanding of German history and the politcal landscape of Germany and what is happenening there since 2020, saddens and shocks me. And it is not the AfD that concerns me.
I don't agree with any extreme political party - be it left or right. When I was still voting, I always voted centre-left, green (before they got radicalised) or, occassionally, centre-right. I am not an AfD supporter.
What concerns me much more than the AfD is the deliberate and co-ordinated "hate speech" against them by the President of Germany. This is new and very concerning.
Traditionally, similar to the Queen in England, the German president has a unifying, calming less-political role, than the Chancellor. For him to engage in "hate speech" and calling any legitimate party followers "rats" is deliberatly radicalising and dividing the country, rather than unifying it.
As far I am aware, the AfD is a legitime politcial party in Germany that hasn't broken any laws. They have every democratic right to be there and have the poitical opinion they represent. While I do not agree with most of their polticial points, I absolutely defend their democratic right to be there and be treated with respect. I am not only disgusted by this marginalizing of the AfD. I am very concerned about the poltical stability and independence of German politics.
I did notice, that since 2020, the AdF was consistantly critical of the Covid meassures and pointed out many lies. They also have been outspoken against globalistic influences, especially in the European parlimanent.
Before 2020 their support fluctuated between 5% and 15%. I tried to get up-to-date graphs of their polling until 2024 and it is another alarming sign to me, that I can't find it when I google it. All the graphs deliverd on the first few rows by Google end 2020 or earlier. As if there is an attmept to not show the recent success of the AfD to the world by Google.
I read that the AfD polled close to 30% in the past years and is still over 20% currently and the 2nd strongest party in Germany.
Instead of calling them "flies on shit" or "rats", the leading politicians in Germany have to have a good look at themselves and very quickly start thinking why the AfD gained millions of new followers in the past four years.
Could it be that more and more German voters are sick of being lied to and have the country sold-out to a totalitarian global agenda?
This destabilizations of democracies is happening worldwide and I don't believe it is a coincidence. It could be a deliberate attempt by the globalists to weaken democracies in important nation states around the world in order to push through their aganda and eliminate any political opposition from nation states.
It is no secret, that the globalist now own the leaders of many prolitical parties in many nations states. (Klaus Schwab bragged about the "infiltrations of the national cabinets by WEF trained young leaders on video).
It is a fact that the mainstream media is almost entirely owned by WEF members.
Will the German mainstream people wake up to this and start to be brave enough to face this new reality and stop being so stupid and naive and start to realize how they are played by their leading politicians, many of whom are globalist puppets?
This is lost in translation at best, disingenuous at worst. While the word "Rattenfänger" does literally mean "rat catcher", it is not used as such, but to refer to the legend "Rattenfänger von Hameln", i.e. to the "Pied Piper of Hamelin".
I'm sure Steinmeier despises the AfD, but at least in this statement he didn't call anyone "rats".
